Recipe Of The Week - Bar-B-Q Burgers

Sauce:

  • 1 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 2 tsp. mustard
  • 1 tsp. worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. liquid smoke
  • 1 tsp. pepper

Burgers:

  • 1 1/2 lb ground beef
  • 1 egg-beaten
  • 1/3 cup oats
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic salt
  • 1 tsp. pepper
  • 1 tsp. salt

For Sauce:

In a saucepan, combine ingredients and bring to a boil.  Remove from heat and set aside 1/4 cup to mix with the burgers. 

For Burgers:

In a bowl, combine 1/4 cup BBQ sauce and remaining burger ingredients and mix well.  Shape into patties and grill to desired doneness, basting with BBQ sauce during last 5 minutes.  Serve on buns with the remaining BBQ sauce.
