Recipe Of The Week - Chicken And Rice

Chicken And Rice

4 lbs Chicken (Your Favorite Pieces)
1 1/2 Cups Flour
Salt & Pepper To Taste
3/4 Cup Butter Flavored Crisco
1 Cup Raw Rice
2 Cups Water
2 Chicken Bullion Cubes
1 Medium Onion - Diced
1 Bay Leaf
3 Whole All Spice

In a large plastic bag combine flour, salt and Pepper.  Add chicken and shake well to coat.  Fry chicken in crisco on medium heat till golden brown.  Place in large baking dish around edge, leaving space for rice in the middle.  Cook rice in water and remaining spices.  Pour into middle of pan.  Pour additional 1/2 cup water over all.  Bake at 275˚ 2 1/2 Hours.

My mother gave me this recipe when I got married.  It has been a favorite for everyone!
