Recipe of the Week: Mom's Apple Pie

Apple Pie Crust Ingredients:

  • 2 cups Flour
  • 1 cup Butter Flavored Crisco
  • 1/2 cup Ice Cold Water
Apple Pie Crust Directions:
  1. Put flour in bowl.
  2. Cut half of Crisco in until the size of peas.
  3. Cut remaining Crisco in until the size of pinto beans.
  4. Add water and mix just until dough sticks together.

Apple Pie Filling Ingredients:

  • 3 Granny Smith Apples - Peeled & Sliced
  • 1 1/2 cups Sugar
  • 2 tbs Flour
  • 2 1/2 tsp Cinnamon
  • 3 tbs Butter

Directions:

  1. Mix pie filling ingredients.
  2. Place in 9" crust filled pie pan.
  3. Top with remaining crust.
  4. Use cookie cutter to vent holes in top.
  5. Brush with cream of milk and sprinkle with sugar.
  6. Bake at 300 degrees until nicely golden brown.
  7. Serve with Ice Cream & enjoy!
