Recipe Of The Week - Grandma's Cornbread

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup Crisco
  • 3/4 cup Sugar
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 1 cup Flour
  • 1 cup Cornmeal
  • 4 tsp Baking Powder
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
Directions:
  1. Mix together Crisco and sugar.
  2. Add egg.
  3. Mix well.
  4. Add Milk.
  5. Then add dry ingredients (flour, cornmeal, baking powder, salt).
  6. Pour into well greased 9x13" pan.
  7. Sprinkle with sugar.
  8. Bake at 400° for 20 minutes or until toothpick poked in middle comes out clean.
