Recipe Of The Week - Poppy Seed Bread

Ingredients

  • 3 Cups Flour
  • 2 1/4 Cups Sugar
  • 1 1/2 Tbs. Poppy Seeds
  • 1 1/2 Tsp. Baking Powder
  • 1 1/2 Tsp. Salt
  • 3 Eggs
  • 1 1/2 Cups Milk
  • 1 Cup Vegetable Oil
  • 1 1/2 Tsp. Vanilla Extract
  • 1 1/2 Tsp. Almond Extract
  • 1 1/2 Tsp. Butter Extract

Glaze:

  • 1 Cup Powdered Sugar
  • 1/4 Cup Lemon Juice
  • 1/2 Tsp. Vanilla Extract
  • 1/2 Tsp. Almond Extract
  • 1/2 Tsp. Butter Extract

Directions

Combine all ingredients except Glaze ingredients into a mixing bowl. Mix for 1 minute. Pour into 2 large loaf pans. Bake at 350° for 1 hour. 

Combine Glaze ingredients and pour over warm loaves. Let cool in pans before removing. These freeze very well.
