Recipe of the Week - Cheesy Vegetable Chowder

Ingredients

  • 3 Cups Hot Water
  • 4 Medium Potatoes (Cubed)
  • 2 Cups Sliced Carrots
  • 3 Chicken Bouillon Cubes
  • 1 Cup Chopped Celery
  • 1/2 Cup Chopped Onion Sauce
  • 1/2 Cup Butter
  • 1/2 Cup Flour
  • 2 tsp.Salt
  • 1/2 tsp.Pepper
  • 4 Cups Milk
  • 1 Lb. Velveeta Cheese
  • 2 Cups Cubed Ham

Directions

Cook the vegetables in water with bouillon cubes until tender, do not drain.  For the sauce, melt the butter then add the flour, salt, pepper and milk, stir and cook until thick.  Add the cheese and stir until melted.  Add the ham and cheese sauce to the vegetables.  Heat, but do not boil, it scorches easily.
